Each participating company is given a unique login to our online survey system. Within each survey, employees and sponsored degree students are asked to rate and review the company, their role and their experiences on the programme.

Each survey participant is quizzed on a variety of topics, including: job satisfaction, skills development, training, career progression, salary and benefits, company culture, level of responsibility, working environment, team relationship and work-life balance.

An average score and percentage is then calculated for each programme. All surveys are completed anonymously. If a company has programmes in more than one category, its overall score for the headline ranking is calculated by taking the average score from each of its different categories.

  • If your company runs one of the following programmes, you are eligible to take part:
    Intermediate Apprenticeship
    Advanced Apprenticeship
    Higher Apprenticeship
    Degree Apprenticeship
    School leaver programme
    Sponsored degree
If you would like your company to be considered for inclusion in our rankings, five of your current employees must complete surveys for each scheme that you wish to enter.
For instance, if you would like to enter both a Higher Apprenticeship and a sponsored degree, five Higher Apprenticeship surveys must be completed and five sponsored degree surveys must also be completed.
Companies are welcome to submit more than the required number surveys, and most choose to do so.

How much time will it take?

A mimimal amount of time will be required for each participating organisation. We will send you the login details which you simply need to pass on to the relevant employees. That is pretty much it. In addition, there are a few awards where we require firms who wish to be considered to put forward an submission, typically less than 1000 words in total.

How much does it cost?

Entry to the rankings and awards is free and all participants will be included in our national advertising campaign to celebrate the rankings and awards. Each participating organisation will receive one free ticket to our event and more tickets can be bought by each organisation.

Is there a dress code?

Yes, we like to give the event a sense of occasion! The dress code is lounge suits and cocktail dresses (ie. business attire).

How are the participating organisations judged?

The vast majority of the awards are simply based on the responses from your employees. We think it is very important to simply reflect the views of those currently on the programmes. We find this is more beneficial to our users and to the participating organsiations so they can understand where they excel and where they is room for improvement.

A small number of the awards are judged by our panels. The School or College Leaver of the Year award is judged by a panel of industry experts many of whom represent their respect sector skills councils.

We also have a student panel who judge the Best for Social Media and Best Recruitment Website awards, as we think they are the best placed to determine these categories.

Details of this year's judging panels will be revealed well in advance of the rankings and awards.
